Okay, so I saw Battlestar Galactica Friday night and I was constantly squeeing like a fangirl or going "oh my God" -- it was that good (not that that's unusual for that show or anything). Needless to say I loved every moment of it, but there were some certain thigns that I especially adored.
1. Any moment between Adama and Roslin is always golden and Friday night was no exception. I especially loved the flashback scenes. They were so intimate. I love the juxtaposition between them on New Caprica and them on Galactica. It's like looking at them on Galactica and how professional they are, you would never even think that that scene on New Caprica happened (though they have had some rather close moments before).
Also, Roslin was blatantly flirting with him and I think the old man knew it, but he was playing it so cool. Like I said: golden.
2. The idea of the rank-free boxing in general. I love how it opened up a Pandora's Box of emotions!
3. Everything to do with Apollo and Starbuck. I was most fangirlish when Lee shouted something like, "I love Kara Thrace and I don't care who frakking knows it!!" OMG. And then he convinced Starbuck to do the same.
After she did it, as soon as she turned around, I knew she made up her mind to marry Anders. I think she did it because she was scared of letting herself go. By declaring to the wilderness, "Kara Thrace loves Lee Adama!" she let go of all reserve she had. I'm sure she meant what she said -- I'm sure she loves him. But I think that scares her to death; she has a lot of issues.
And I was sooo feeling sorry for Lee whenever he found out she married Anders. You know he thought that it would be he and Starbuck were getting married that morning and making babies.
So yeah, I can completely understand their frakked up relationship and their boxing match. I mean, how do you come back from that? With a lot of baggage.
Now that they've beaten the piss out of each other and hugged and said, "I missed you," I wonder if they be on more friendly terms.
4. I love the wounded looks on Dee and Anders' faces whenever Lee and Kara hugged after beating each other to bloody pulps . Both know their marriages are in trouble, but after seeing the two together, how could they even think that they were destined for anyone but each other? I mean, come on. I don't think any two characters on the show are more close to each other than them.
I like Dee a lot as a character, so I think she should just go off and find someone that isn't in love with his best friend. lol
And now I can't wait until next week's episode. I've been addicted to Battlestar Galactica for years, yeah, but they're really making it difficult to wait until a new episode airs! I know I will be miserable next time they go on hiatus.
