Mandatory Vaccines

So, Texas is now making Gardasil vaccinations mandatory for girls going into the sixth grade, and I have to applaude them. Any type of cancer is no good, so making a vaccine that could prevent a common type of cancer mandatory is absolutely wonderful. However, there are some parents that say this mantadory vaccination violates their rights, and I just have to wonder how? How does it violate their rights?

To me, the biggest violation of rights would be not allowing these girls to get vaccinated when it could potentially save some of their LIVES. What a lot of people don't realize is that HPV (and other STDs) is not a slut's disease. You can get it from having sex just one time from a partner who's had sex just one time before you. So, a wife could get it on her wedding night from her own husband. Even the most chaste girl is at risk. So, how on earth does it violate a parents rights?

This vaccine will not turn their daughters to whores. It will only improve the quality of their lives and I hope we'll see other states follow en suite. Remember folks: being a whore is a choice. You're not a whore because of birth control pills, condoms, or vaccines that prevent STDs. You're a whore because you screw a lot of people all willy nilly like.

Furthermore, these parents let their daughters get the tetanus shots...yet they don't want them having another shot that could save their lives? What the hell? You know what: I'm all for mandatory vaccinations period. Seriously. I don't think someone should be allowed to carry whooping cough OR HPV because it's their choice or their beliefs. Putting others at risk is irresponsible on exponential scale.

End rant.
