Spider Man 3 Review

Last night, I was Spider Man 3. It was better than the last two in some ways, but I left the theater disappointed nonetheless. *runs and hides from rabid Spider Man fans*

Basically, I felt like my intelligence was being insulted. I was the only person in the theater laughing at inappropriate times. When the little parasite thingy came down from the metorite and crawling, I was laughing my ass off. When the guy got vaporized and then came back as dust, I started laughing too, which was bad, as it was meant to be...not funny.

I thought the movie went off on too many tangents. I didn't like the bad Spider Man storyline at all. Spider Man was already an arrogant ass. He didn't need the help of an extraterrestrial parasite. It's like on Smallville. Every once in a while, Skippy will be infected with Red Kryptonite and will do a bunch of bad stuff. And then, when it's all over, everyone's all like "Oh, we knew it was just the Red K talking". But everyone forgets that Skippy does bad stuff on his own without Red K, like being a bad friend to Lex, wronging Lana, etc. Well...Peter Parker was an arrogant ass before the parasite thingy infected his suit. The suit just made his dumbest more apparant to the populace...like on Smallville.

I liked Harry's storyline until the part after he kisses M.J. and then all the sudden, his father is talking to him and he decides to take revenge. Until that point, they'd done good with the character...but that just made it too cheesy. His idea to do something bad should've been more subtle. And I don't like how he black-mailed Mary Jane into telling Peter it was over. That was just dumb. Who does that? A real villain would just take her from him and then laugh about it.

And omg. When Harry died, I felt horrible. I loved him. He's probably like my favorite character. They just kinda let his storyline with M.J. die though. I guess we're supposed to believe that if he lived, he would just let Peter have her, which is dumb, because he really loved her too. But I like that he and Peter got to be friends again before he died and that Peter learned something from it. But still...I didn't want him to die. It was sad. The story kinda felt cheapened that his plot, was essentially, to make Peter learn something that Peter should've been smart enough to already know. grr

Oh and Peter kissing the blonde chick? wtf? Mary Jane totally shouldn't take him back. I wouldn't.

Another thing that bothered me was the ridiculously long action sequences. I fell asleep during one of them, but then this loud noise woke me up and stuff. grr

I liked the acting though. The acting was good. Like I said, I laughed a lot. I like the humor aspect...even though some things just weren't meant to be funny. James Franco did an especially good job. (I've liked him since he was on Freeks and Geeks.)

If I had to give this movie a rating from 0 - 10, zero being a completely dumb waste of time...I'd give it a 4. *runs away from rabid Spidey fans again*
